With the first game of the Spring season awaiting then, KCRFC were eager to hopefully show off some of there off season training. The game started with each team trying to test each other early, it took KCRFC a little time to really get into the game. There was a vast improvement in the set peices fron last year with KCRFC dominating the scrums. Multi phase was a different matter loosing ball in contact a number of times, finally in the 23rd min a darting run by ( inside centre ) Mike Opels creating a individual try for himself, con Brandon Naghshineh making the score 7 - 0 .
After much pressure by KCRFC the visitors defence was getting a wee bit tired and in the 30th min ( Flyhalf ) James Talyor split the defence to score the second try, con Brandon 14 - 0.
In the second half the things started the same each team testing each other, KCRFC then started to empty their bench to give players the opportunity they all deserve to prove themselves. A break down close to the KCRFC try line gave the Visitors the chance to put some points on the board. An off side by one of the KCRFC players ( name I do know ) gave the British Military a easy 3 points.
20 mins into the second half ( winger ) Tom Alberts scored in the corner to make it 19 - 3. KCRFC were still dominating the set peices but still a little untidy in the other phases.14 min from the end James Taylor received a yellow card for a spike tackle to the ground, now with only 14 players KCRFC defended very well. With the close of the game near and still with only 14 player the visitors got a consolation try to end the game.

Final score KCRFC 19 8 British Military

Man of the Match Mike Opels
